Starbucks is delicious (duh). It’s fast, convenient and reasonably priced… if you still have that gift card your mom mailed you when you were homesick. And despite the ‘basic’ accusations you’re sure to get from judgmental eyes at the library (they’re all just jealous), you’re guaranteed a happy stomach. This has never been more true with the relatively new (and simply delish) La Boulange bakery items.

Each treat is exquisite, offering the perfect complement to your usual Starbs order. Especially with that futuristic oven/microwave contraption that makes everything seem like it was baked freshly for you. Over the countless hours I’ve spent in Starbucks convincing myself that all I need to keep studying for Econ is another warm croissant, I think it’s safe to say I’ve become a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to the bakery. So without further ado, here is the Starbucks dream team of deserts.

1. Chocolate Croissant
This really needs no embellishment; the title says it all. I don’t even know why they give you the option to warm up your bakery items, because it really should be required for this croissant. The warm, rich chocolate inside a flaky, doughy crust is ah-mazing and it’s the perfect size for breakfast or a post-class snack. There’s also a story on the back of the bag it comes in about why their chocolate croissants are square, if you’re bored/procrastinating. (Honestly would recommend, it’s intriguing.)

2. Iced Lemon Pound Cake
Pound cake is great in general because it’s like a sweet, desert-y loaf of bread. But with frosting. And lemon. We’re sold. It’s also super satisfying and will definitely keep your hunger at bay until the dining hall re-opens. This would be great with one of Starbuck’s iced teas when it’s nice again in April, (fingers crossed).

3. Blueberry Scone
This is a classic. You really can’t go wrong with a blueberry scone, especially if it’s warmed up. The blueberries add a nice fruity flavor to the Frappuccino or latte you’re probably drinking. Scones tend to get a rep as boring, but with sugar crystals on top, it is anything but.

4. Classic Coffee Cake
The OG coffee-paired bakery item. They invented this cake for the sole purpose of eating it with coffee, so I would highly suggest heeding that subtle advice and splurging on some cinnamon goodness to enjoy with your midday caffeine.

5. Morning Bun
I know it’s difficult to guess from the name, but this bun is great for breakfast if you’re running to class. Pro-tip: If you’re lucky, sometimes the employees will give out samples. Free pastries? We think yes.

6. Pecan Tart
This tart is absolutely awesome, and completely underrated. I’ve found that no one likes pecans, or nuts in general really, unless you’re a man over the age of 40. I encourage everyone to reevaluate the aversion to little chunks of solid protein, because this tart is like a mini pecan pie and perfect for a mid-studying pick-me-up.

7. Salted Caramel Tart (or square) with Pecans
Starbucks is killing the salted caramel game and apparently the pecan game. Pecans are perfect in a rich baked good like this because they break up the sweetness and keep the caramel from gluing your teeth together. I would recommend either of these especially post-midterm; they’ll be even more decadent as a food reward. And since the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is only available for the holidays, this is a great substitute for your year round salty-sweet fix.

Now that you know how delicious 7 of Starbucks’ bakery items are, I encourage you to use your dining dollars in the Union to check one out (yeah, you can use your dining dollars at Starbucks). You’re welcome. Or try one of the other 25 or so options—trust us, you won’t regret it.
