This granola recipe is the perfect way to continue consuming your favorite Trader Joe’s granola while remaining within the constraints of your budget. It tastes just like the store-bought version, but has an added perk: it’s cheaper. The Trader Joe’s version costs $3.99 for about 4 cups of granola, while the homemade version cost $8.25 for about 9 cups. Although the price of the homemade version is about double the store-bought price, you end up making more than twice the quantity of the store-bought version. Happy savings… and happy munching!

Servings: About 9 cups

Ingredients: 
3 cups oats
1 cup almond meal
1 cup of dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1 cup unsalted cashews
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 cup sunflowerseed oil
1/8 cup olive oil
1/2 cup egg whites

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 150ºC.
2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.

3. Add wet ingredients.

4. Spread wet oats onto a pan lined with parchment paper.

5. Bake for 50 minutes. After 25 minutes, stir the oats, and bake for the remaining 25 minutes.

6. Let the oats cool and store them in an airtight container.
