This Simple Berry Layer Dessert Is Perfect for Parties
With the help of this recipe, you’ll be prepared for any last-minute barbecues, picnics, or parties. The fresh fruit, airy cake, and whipped filling create a guiltless, light dessert that may inspire even a second (or third) scoop.
Berry Layer Dessert

Ingredients
- 1 box of angel food cake mix
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 2 boxes of cheesecake pudding mix
- 4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cup cool whip
- 16 oz strawberries
- 1 pint blueberries
Step 1
Gather ingredients and an angel food cake pan.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 350°F or as directed on box.
Step 3
Beat together cake mix and water until incorporated.
#SpoonTip: If you’re in a rush, buy a pre-made angel food cake and skip to step five.
Step 4
Pour batter into greased pan. Then bake according to directions on box or until browned.
Step 5
Remove cake from oven and place the pan upside-down on a glass bottle to cool.
Step 6
Chop the angel food cake into bite-sized pieces with a serrated knife once cooled and set aside.
Step 7
Whisk together pudding mix and milk, following directions on box.
Step 8
Fold in cool whip after pudding has formed.
Step 9
Arrange cake bits in the bottom of a trifle dish or large bowl. This is your bottom layer.
Step 10
Pour the pudding mixture over the cake layer until fully covered.
Step 11
Place washed blueberries and quartered strawberries on top of the pudding layer.
Step 12
Repeat layers until all of the ingredients are used up, ending with berries on top.
