This Beer and Vinegar Rinse Will Naturally Strengthen Your Hair

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Richmond chapter.

Beer: you can drink it, shotgun it, chug it… but have you ever thought to rinse your hair with it? And I don’t mean when you come home from a frat party with your hair soaked in beer.

We damage our hair all the time by blow-drying, straightening, curling, coloring and all the other things that we find necessary in order to make our hair shiny and luscious. I know this sounds weird, but beer’s most basic ingredients, malt and hops, are filled with proteins that nourish and strengthen your hair. Applying these proteins actually helps restore and repair damaged hair. Believe me, I actually tried it.

The benefits of beer don’t just stop there. The alcohol in beer adds shine with the help of B vitamins and natural sugars. They tighten hair cuticles, making light bounce off your hair. Ta-da, shinier hair.

If pouring a full lukewarm beer on your head in the shower doesn’t sound appealing, but you still want to get all the benefits, try this beer and apple cider hair rinse.
