This Bananas Foster Recipe Actually Makes Rice Pudding Taste Good

I’ve always been a little hesitant when it comes to rice pudding. Rice goes with raw fish and orange chicken… and you’re telling me I can eat it for dessert?

After finally popping my rice pudding cherry, I learned that yes, I can eat rice for dessert. And I would also eat it for every damn meal (this recipe has bananas, so that covers breakfast at least).

Bananas Foster Rice Pudding

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 15-20 minutes
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Servings: 6
  • Medium
Ingredients
  • 3 cup cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 bananas
  • Nilla Wafers (optional garnish)

Step 1

Cook rice as directed.

Step 2

Combine milk, butter, and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat until boiling.

Remove heat and stir in bananas and rice.

Cook mixture on medium heat until boiling.

Add some crushed nillas and you’ve got yourself some dank bananas foster rice pudding.
