These Ice Cream Cone Shots Are a Boozy Summer Staple

We’ve all squinted our eyes, scrunched up our faces, and smacked our lips together from throwing back a shot of something hard to get down.  Those days are over with this quick and easy recipe for Ice Cream Cone Shots.  A crunchy waffle cone coated in a thin layer of chocolate, covered in sprinkles filled with a sweet mixture of vanilla ice cream and your favorite liquor.  This refreshing shot will cool you down while also allowing yourself to indulge in a way more fun dessert.  The typical ice cream cone isn’t gonna do it for Summer ’16, so enjoy the sun and throw back this delicious summer shooter.

Ice Cream Cone Shots

Ingredients
  • 6 ice cream cones
  • 3 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sprinkles
  • 1 whipped cream
  • 1 pint liquor

Step 1

Take off the top ¼ of the cones by cutting them with a sharp knife. Make sure edges are consistent, and aren’t jagged.

Step 2

In microwave safe bowls, melt your white and milk chocolate chips for 2-3 minutes, making sure to check 20-30 seconds.

Step 3

Dip your ice cream cones into the chocolate chip mixtures, as well as all over the insides of the cones so that they get coated in chocolate. Dash some sprinkles onto the melted chocolate. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Combine your very softened ice cream and 2 shots of your favorite booze (bourbon, chocolate liqueur, coffee liqueur) together.

Step 5

Pour this mixture into each of the waffle cones, top with whipped cream or a spoonful of ice cream. Enjoy!
