I wanted to make some cupcakes, so I recruited baking extraordinaire Sam Jesner and my friend with an adorable dog and kitchen to help me with this task. After much toiling in the kitchen, many puffs of sugar (me), runs to the grocery store and food coloring-stained fingers (me), we ended up making these mini masterpieces. What these starry night cupcakes lack for in Van Gogh's standard of well...talent, they probably taste better than the painting.

Are we up to the task? Can we make cupcakes that are both scrumptious and artistic? Will these be cute enough to put on our Spoon Instagram? These questions followed us as we baked...

Next step, frost your cupcakes. We used toothpicks to swirl the colors together, but there are other ways to frost as well. Express some creativity!

For the chocolate cupcakes we used this chocolate cupcake recipe, but tripled the ingredients so we could share with our friends. Whatever cupcake you use will work in this recipe! We thought that the chocolate would add to the night sky, and they also happen to be delicious. So grab a fork and dig into these starry night cupcakes, or any other awesome Spoon recipe on our site.
