6 3-ingredient cocktails for peeps who don’t like hard liquor

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22…degrees, like it’s freezing outside. If you’re like me and simply can’t wait until spring break, or if you’re opting for a stay-cation this year, here are some drinks that are guaranteed to bring spring break to you. Take a sip, close your eyes and let me take you to…

South Padre Island, Texas: Texas Margarita

Oh South Padre… How did you end up as US New’s #1 spring break destination? Transport yourself to the sands and all-night partying of South Padre by adding some OJ and beer (hopefully you can get Lone Star for some Texan authenticity, but I had to settle for Corona here in NC) and OJ to the classic marg.

Easy

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 2 minutes

Servings: 3

Ingredients:
2 cups prepared margarita mix
3 shots tequila
1 beer
3 shots orange juice
Ice

Directions
1. Blend all ingredients except beer until slushy.
2. Serve with inverted beer (be careful that it doesn’t overflow)

Panama City Beach, Florida: Sex on the Beach

One of the cheapest ways to have a fun and raunchy spring break. Pull up, DRANK, beaching, DRANK, clubbing, DRANK. Repeat. Great in theory, but sometimes regrettable if you’re not careful…much like sex on the beach. Enjoy safely.

Easy

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 2 minutes

Servings: 3

Ingredients:
4 shots vodka
5 shots peach schnapps
5 shots cranberry juice
5 shot orange juice
Maraschino cherries

Directions
1. Mix all ingredients.
2. Top with a Maraschino cherry (hint hint, wink wink).

Cancun, Mexico: Piña Colada

Ah yes, Cancun: “the place where you can be drunk 25/7” according to Urban Dictionary, because all-inclusive resorts mean unlimited drinks. You better be taking advantage of that open bar with at least one fruity, boozy slushy a day, spring breakers. The Cancun spring break is classic and ever-loved, just like a Piña Colada (also very enjoyable as an alcoholic popsicle).

Easy

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Servings: 3

Ingredients:
3 cups pineapple juice
3 shots Malibu rum
½ cup coconut cream
Ice
Tropical fruit, for garnish

Directions
1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
2. Top with whatever tropical fruit you have lying around.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Caribbean Cosmo

Punta Cana is the slightly more exotic version of Cancun that pretends it’s classier. The Dominican Republic’s liquor of choice, when not drinking Mama Juana*, is rum. Let’s make a drink that’s got that island attitude with a tinge of sophistication: the Caribbean Cosmo.

Easy

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 2 minutes

Servings: 3

Ingredients:
3 shots Malibu rum
3 shots Grand Marnier orange liqueur
1 cup cranberry juice
1 ½ shot lime juice
Lime, for garnish

Directions
1. Mix all ingredients.
2. Garnish with lime wedges.

*Mama Juana is also known as “the Viagra of the Domincan Republic.” Those of you going there, report back, because there’s unfortunately not really a home recipe.

Vail, Colorado: Hot Mint Chocolate Toddy

Oh the weather outside is still frightful here…but, at least you get to spend the day shredding snow and then cuddling up by the fire (I’m jealous you don’t have to worry about de-bloating). Make your own après ski with a Hot Mint Chocolate Toddy to accompany you and Netflix on this cold winter night.

Easy

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 2 minutes

Servings: 3

Ingredients:
3 shots Kahlua
3 shots peppermint Schnapps
3 cups hot chocolate

Directions
1. Mix all ingredients.
2. Top with whipped cream, cinnamon sticks, chocolate shavings, mini marshmallows—whatever you want!

Shenandoah National Park, Virginia: Mason Jar Moscow Mule

When you’re gathered around the campfire, you want something with a little bit of heat. When you’re at the top of mountain after a long hike, you want something cool and refreshing. The rustic Moscow Mule does both. The mason jars are for convenience and to make you feel like a lumber-sexual LL Bean cool kid. Best enjoyed with The Lumineers playing in the background.

Easy

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 2 minutes

Servings: 3

Ingredients:
3 shots vodka
3 ginger beers
3 tablespoons lime juice

Directions
1. Mix all ingredients.
2. Enjoy on ice or without.

Like it? We figured. Why don’t you pin it?
