Ever since its conception in 2013 by Keizo Shimamoto, the ramen burger has taken the food world by storm. The novelty food attracted huge crowds in New York as people lined up in hopes to get one of the 200 ramen burgers sold per day. Unfortunately, the mass majority of us don’t have access to the ramen burger.
Many have made their own adaptations of the ramen burger, but I was inspired created my own version after stumbling down the rabbit hole that is the Internet. You don’t even have to go to Brooklyn to try out this spicy Korean spin on the tasty ramen burger.

Spicy Ramen Burger
Ingredients
Instructions
Bring pot of water to a boil and cook the ramen according to package directions. Drain and let cool.
Beat one egg in a small mixing bowl. Add it to the ramen and stir until evenly coated with the egg. Divide ramen into 2 portions and place into separate bowls, preferably with a flat base.
Place a sheet of plastic wrap over the ramen and flatten the noodles using a heavy can or a bottle to achieve a bun shape. Refrigerate until firm for at least 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Invert the ramen bun carefully into the skillet to maintain the bun shape. Fry both sides until golden brown, approximately 3-5 minutes each side.
Mix beef, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a bowl, then reshape into a patty. Cook the beef patty until lightly pink in the center, roughly 3-5 minutes on each side. Then fry remaining egg.
#SpoonTip: Place a lid over your egg to cook the whites but keep the yolk runny.
Assemble the burger: Put down your first ramen bun.
Then, the arugula and spicy mayo.
Next, put on the burger patty.
Top it off with the cheese, fried egg, kimchi, and scallions.
Top with the second ramen bun and enjoy.
Don’t let your dreams be dreams. Try it out and share the love.
