French fries are the ultimate fried munchie food, but they are generally not the go to snack for the diet-conscious foodie. So if you’re looking to indulge without the bulge, these skinny fries are the perfect snack for you. Instead of using potato- the ultimate carb overload- you can go skinnier with turnips.
Turnips are root vegetables with fewer carbs and calories than a potato. They are high in antioxidants and boast impressive anti-inflammatory benefits… oh, and they taste pretty close to a potato, making them the ultimate fry-swap. And if you bake them properly, you won’t miss all of that grease your fries usually sit in, as they get crispy and golden brown from the baking process.
