Deck the halls with red wine hot chocolate? Yes, that's correct. Prepare to be treated this holiday season with your two favorite things: red wine and hot chocolate. Combine the two together to create something even Santa will be craving.

What better way to celebrate the holidays than by trying out a new recipe? Try bringing red wine hot chocolate to the family Christmas party and you'll quickly become the favorite relative. Whether it be spending time in the kitchen with family or just looking for a tasty treat to share with bae while you binge-watch Christmas movies, here's a recipe that will certainly boost your holiday cheer.

Red Wine Hot Chocolate

  • Prep Time: 5 mins
  • Cook Time: 10 mins
  • Total Time: 15 mins
  • Servings: 2
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups milk I used skim
  • 1 cup red wine I used Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1/3 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream for topping

Step 1

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk with your milk chocolate chips. Whisk constantly until it is completely mixed. It should begin to look like a thick chocolate milk. Also, save some chocolate chips (you'll use them later).

Step 2

Next, add the red wine. Again, whisk until it is completely mixed. This should give the mixture a reddish tint.

Step 3

Last but not least, pour your delicious beverage into mugs and add whipped cream to top it off. Next, add those extra chocolate chips that you've been saving, because who doesn't love chocolate?!
