DIY Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks

If the thought of the peppermint mocha disappearing from the Starbucks menu after the holidays gives you heart palpitations, I have your cure.

This DIY peppermint mocha is all you need to feel warm & fuzzy no matter what time of year it is. Because the recipe uses a crockpot, you can make a big batch at one time to keep on hand. (You never know when a holiday drink craving will hit you.)

Crockpot Peppermint Mocha

Ingredients
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 cups strong coffee brewed
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • Whipped cream

Step 1

To make the peppermint syrup, bring the water and sugar to a boil and stir until sugar has dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat, add the peppermint extract and stir to combine.

Step 2

In a crockpot, combine milk, coffee, chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of the peppermint syrup. Let it cook on low for 2 hours (stir occasionally).

Serve it up in your favorite mug and top with whipped cream (or whatever your heart desires).
