This Paleo Turkey Chili Is Sure to Keep You Warm

This winter season, I've been very conflicted. On one hand, it's cold and that means drinking hot chocolate and eating all kinds of warm, filling holiday food. On the other hand, it's only Florida and I know that when spring comes around, it's back to swim suits and crop tops. I was looking for a way to stay healthy while keeping some warm food in my stomach, then I found this chili

This paleo turkey chili is the perfect meal to keep warm with and it's ALL HEALTHY. I'm telling the truth—but if you don't believe me, you'll just have to try it for yourself.

Paleo Turkey Chili

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped sweet onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow bell peppers
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 28-ounce can crushed organic tomatoes undrained
  • 1 16-ounce can red kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 cups low-sodium gluten free chicken stock
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons hot sauce recommended: Tabasco
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano

Step 1

In a large skillet, saute onions, garlic and bell peppers in olive oil over medium heat. (The onions should start to be translucent.)

Step 2

Add in the ground turkey and cooked until brown.

Add in all remaining ingredients and stir until it is combined.

Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 1 hour. Enjoy!
