Like many other skincare and beauty fans, I love DIY products. When my skin is looking dull or my calendar shows a stressful week ahead, I stop by my kitchen to grab the best ingredient for the job: nutmeg.

Many spices can be magic when used in face masks. Nutmeg, however, is my personal favorite. After doing a lot of research, I figured nutmeg would be best for my skin type (dry) and have been using a face mask with nutmeg about every week or two for almost a year. I can say with certainty that for me, nutmeg has been a world of help.

Nutmeg has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness and pigmentation. Stubborn scars become lighter and skin tone is evened.

The best part about this spice: it works well for both oily and dry skin! It helps tighten pores to reduce oiliness, exfoliate skin and boost hydration.
