This Nutella and Oreo Stuffed Cookie Cake Is the Definition of Decadence

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Hamilton chapter.

When faced with the cake I wanted to make with my friends for my birthday this year now that I’m at college, I was stumped. There weren’t many pots and pans available so making my normal layered ice cream cake was out of the question. I decided that I really only had the pans for bars, but I still wanted some sort of cake.

Instructions

  1. Claudia Karademas

Preheat Oven to 350ËšF. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and a 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Set aside.

  2. Claudia Karademas

In a large bowl, beat 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened butter, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar until creamy. Then add 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 2 eggs, and 1 tablespoon milk. Blend thoroughly.

  3. Claudia Karademas

Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until fully incorporated.

  4. Claudia Karademas

Pour in your desired amount of chocolate chips (I used 1cup) and mix.

  5. Claudia Karademas

Pour 1/2 of the cookie dough into an oven proof skillet. If you don’t have a skillet, use a brownie pan like I did.

  6. Claudia Karademas

Smash 15 (or however many you’d like) Oreos into small chunks, then mix in a small bowl with the 6 oz (2 regular jars) of Nutella. Layer this over the cookie dough.

  7. Claudia Karademas

Crush some more Oreos (I used 9) and sprinkle them over the top. Then add the rest of the cookie dough, being sure to cover all of the oreos. Put in the oven for 45 minutes (until edges are brown). Baking times may vary.

  8. Claudia Karademas

Take your delicious cookie cake out of the oven and enjoy! I cut them into brownie sized pieces, but for a real cookie cake experience cut it into pizza-like slices. Add some ice cream if you wish.
