A Moment of Silence For This Red Velvet Hot Chocolate With Whipped Cream Cheese Topping

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Northwestern chapter.

Like royalty of the dessert world, even the words “Red Velvet” sound gourmet and delicious. Red Velvet itself dates back to the 19th century and has become extremely popular in recent years (Red Velvet Oreos, anyone?).

But just what makes people go so crazy over Red Velvet? It could be the rich, chocolatey flavor. Or the whimsical color. Or the cream cheese frosting. Luckily, you get all three when you make this delicious recipe.

#SpoonTip: make this delectable drink into a romantic gesture – red is the color of love, amiright?
