How to Make Yummy Bananas Foster Inspired Banana Bread

Banana bread is the bee’s knees. It’s easy to make, super yummy, and like cake, you can cut yourself however big of a piece you want. Although classic banana bread always satisfies, every now and then it should be taken to the next level. Elevate classic banana bread to doubly-yummy status with this recipe for bananas foster-inspired banana bread. Listed first is the recipe for the banana bread itself, and below is the recipe for the caramel sauce you’ll top it off with.

Bananas Foster-Inspired Banana Bread

  • Cook Time: 50 minutes to 1 hour

Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • dash of brown sugar

Step 1

Preheat your oven for 350°F. Add your bananas to a mixing bowl and mash them up with a fork. Do this until you have a relatively smooth mixture.

Step 2

Next, melt 1/3 cup of butter. Once melted, add to the banana mixture and mix everything together.

Next, add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and just a pinch of salt. Mix everything together.

Next, add 3/4 cup of sugar.

Beat one egg in a separate bowl and then add to your mixture.

Next, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Add 1 1/2 cups of flour to the bowl and mix well until you have a relatively smooth consistency.

Last, but certainly not least, add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and mix well.

Grease a 4×8 inch pan with either butter or PAM spray. Then, pour your mixture in.

Before sliding your pan in the oven, sprinkle a dash of brown sugar all over the top.

Step 11

Pop the pan in the oven for 50 minutes to an hour. You can test if your loaf is finished by poking it with a fork and seeing if it comes out clean. Once the banana bread is finished baking, slide it onto a clean plate. Proceed to the recipe below to follow the next (and best) step – adding caramel sauce!

Caramel Sauce

  • Prep Time: 2 minutes
  • Cook Time: 3 minutes
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Servings: About 1/3 cup of caramel sauce

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoon heavy cream

Step 1

Over low heat, melt 1/4 cup of butter in a small saucepan.

Step 2

Once melted, add 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 3 tablespoons of heavy cream. Stir until dissolved. Allow it to bubble for about a minute and then allow it to cool for about 40 seconds.

Step 3

Drizzle the caramel sauce all over your banana bread. Wait a minute or two to allow everything to cool slightly. Cut yourself a piece and enjoy.
