Who says bacon can’t be fancy? And what says “fancy” like an exotic dried fruit with cheese? True, this combination sounds pretty weird. But believe it or not, it works.
Even better, it’s pretty easy to slap together with ingredients available at your local grocery store, so it’s not to much effort to experiment with. Just follow this recipe and tap into your inner connoisseur, creating sophisticated yet approachable bacon-wrapped dates.
Bacon-Wrapped Dates
Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Slice the dates lengthwise ¾ of the way down.
In a small bowl, press the cheese and cream together, using the fork to break apart the cheese, and whisk the mixture.
Spread a small scoop of the cream and cheese into the center of each date and close them up.
Cut each slice of bacon in half.
Wrap each bacon slice around a date.
Place the bacon-wrapped dates on a baking sheet and bake 15-20 minutes, or until bacon is crisp.
