How to Master the Perfect Grilled Cheese

For all college students who share a community refrigerator, this basic snack uses only 5 pantry staples to make the perfect grilled cheese and our lives infinitely better!

Ingredients
  • 4 slices good White Bread
  • 2 Cheese Cubes- any that you prefer
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Black Pepper

Step 1

Slice the onion. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan and saute onions on low heat till they turn into brown, sweet, caramelised goodness. Keep aside once done.

Grate your cheese. This step is absolutely crucial to ensure that the cheese melts uniformly for an ooey-gooey toastie.

Step 3

Butter all 4 bread slices on one side to make sure you get that amazing buttery crust when it hits the hot pan. Begin layering your sandwich. Start with putting on the cheese onto 2 slices, then the onion mixture and finish with a pinch of pepper. Slap the other 2 slices and press down on the sandwich to seal.

Step 4

Place your sandwiches in a medium hot pan and cook on each side for 3-4 minutes till that crispy, golden exterior is formed. Make sure you continuously press down on the sandwiches to ensure that they seal firmly.

Step 5

Voila! Your super-easy yet super-satisfying grilled cheese sandwhiches are ready. Now all that remains is to cut into them and Instagram that drool-worthy cheese pull!
