How to Make Whipped Cream in a Mason Jar

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Temple chapter.

This is probably the easiest recipe I’ve ever seen: measuring isn’t critical, it takes about 2 minutes, and all you need is a jar and 3 basic ingredients. Also, a little bit of arm strength (it’s a shaker).

This homemade whipped cream is a great topper for iced coffee, because it’s just cream and sugar – if some gets stirred in, it’ll just make your coffee creamier.

Add all the ingredients to the mason jar and secure the lid.

#SpoonTip: Chill your jar ahead of time to speed up the whipping process.

Shake the jar for 2-3 minutes – the harder you shake, the faster the cream will be whipped.

You’ll know it’s done when the splashing sound in the jar fades to a fluffier, airy noise. Check on the cream, and if it needs to be thicker just close the lid and keep on shaking.

Use to top fresh fruit, coffee, ice cream, or anything you want. Enjoy!
