How to Make Rainbow Pull-Apart Bread That’s Better Than the Rainbow Bagel

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen the rainbow bagel taking over the Internet—those boldly colored creations are blowing up every Instagram feed. We’ve even figured out how to make them at home from scratch, but why not try something a little bit different? This rainbow cinnamon sugar pull-apart bread gives you the same whimsical colors with a whole new flavor. You can avoid the lines at the Bagel Store, and now you won’t have to be spinning those colors to get a pretty colorful breakfast.

Rainbow Pull-Apart Bread

  • Prep Time: 1 hour 30 minutes (including resting)
  • Cook Time: 45 minutes
  • Total Time: 2 hours, 15 minutes

Ingredients
  • 2 cans biscuit dough
  • 4 colors gel food coloring
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2

Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and set aside.

Step 3

Open cans of dough and divide into 4 equal portions.

Add a different food color to each piece of dough.

Step 5

Knead each dough until the colors are evenly distributed.

Step 6

Divide each section of colored dough into about 1 inch balls.

Step 7

Dip each dough ball into the melted butter and then roll through cinnamon sugar.

Step 8

Layer coated dough balls into a bundt pan, distributing colors throughout the pan.

Step 9

Once all dough balls have been placed into the pan, leave to rest for 1 hour in a warm place.

Step 10

Bake dough for 35-45 minutes.

Step 11

Once the bread is finished baking, cool for 10 minutes.

Turn dough onto a plate and dig in.
