How to Make Italian Bolognese From Scratch

In Italy, the culture revolves around the dinner table. Family and friends spend time together preparing and cooking meals made from fresh and local ingredients. This recipe is made fresh from farmers market items, just like they do it in Italy! Don’t believe me? Try it yourself and wow your friends! Pairs perfectly with any kind of wine. Farmers Market Italian Bolognese

  • Cook Time: 1 hour and 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 1 hour and 20 minutes

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package of diced pancetta
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce (no added salt or herbs)
  • 3 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 package of tagliatelle pasta
  • 1/4 cup table cream
  • 1/2 cup red wine (preferably cabernet)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

Step 1

Chop onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Add olive oil to a pan over medium heat and sauteé vegetables for 4 minutes.

Step 2

Add diced pancetta and ground beef to the pan. Cook for about 5 minutes until brown then stir meat and veggies together. Pour wine into pan and let cook until evaporated.

Step 3

Add tomato sauce and cook over medium-low heat for 1 hour.

Step 4

Boil water and add pinch of salt and olive oil. Add pasta to boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes. Add cream to the sauce then let it cook for 10 minutes.

Step 5

Put pasta in the sauce and cook together. Place on a plate and sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
