How to Make Edible Cookie Dough 3 Ways

The greatest foods on the planet are made from chickpeas. Hummus, falafel, and now these edible cookie doughs. I know the alarm bells might be going off right now at the thought of chickpea-based cookie dough, but hear me out. Chickpeas are fairly bland and take on the taste of the ingredients added to them. By blending in maple syrup, nut butters, vanilla, and other mix-ins, you get the most delightful dip on the planet. Learning how to make edible cookie dough is incredibly simple, so don’t fret if you’re new to the kitchen.

These cookie doughs taste like you just popped open a tube of Pillsbury, but their lack of eggs, processed sugars, and butter make them suitable for eating with a spoon while you scroll through memes on Instagram. The chickpeas also make them filling enough to enjoy for dinner (or at least that’s what I told myself).

I made a traditional chocolate chip, a white chocolate macadamia nut, and a snickerdoodle flavor, but you can definitely substitute different mix-ins and nut butters to customize your dough to your liking. I have plans to invent an oatmeal raisin flavor, a chocolate peanut butter cup flavor, and whatever other creations my devilish sweet tooth can dream up.

I recommend making this for a party and not telling anyone the secret ingredient until the end. People will be absolutely mind blown. I also recommend serving it up to your crush. They’ll enjoy it so much that they’ll probably kiss you with joy (I haven’t confirmed this reaction yet, but that’s likely how it’ll play out).
