    Ingredients

  • Cupcakes:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 vanilla extract
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2-3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk
  • Decoration:
  • 1 box Nilla Wafers
  • 1 box candy eyes
  • Black gel frosting
  • Red Hots
  • 1 bag pretzels

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line your cupcake tins and gather your ingredients.

    In a small bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder. Set this aside for later.

    In a large bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until you reach a fluffy consistency. Then add in the egg yolks one at a time and vanilla. Beat in the flour and milk, alternating after each 1/4 cup.

    Pour the batter into the cupcake tins. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Once they are done, allow them to cool for at least 15 minutes.

    While your cupcakes are baking, prepare the frosting. Start by combining the cocoa powder and powdered sugar.

    Add 2 sticks of butter and 2-3 teaspoons of vanilla. Mix until fully combined then add 1-2 tablespoons of milk 1 tablespoon at a time.

    Once your cupcakes are done baking and cooling, it's time to decorate them! Start by frosting them. Then, place a Nilla Wafer toward the edge of the cupcake to resemble the mouth. Attach a Red Hot with the Icing Gel as a the nose. Put two candy eyes above the Nilla Wafer, and two pretzels on either side to resemble the ears.
