How to Make a Personal Chocolate Cake in the Microwave

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Sewanee chapter.

I love cake. I could eat it three times a day, seven days a week, and 52 weeks out of the year. So I figured, why not try to make a personal chocolate cake in the most simplified way in the microwave? I have found that while here at Sewanee, I have had trouble finding time to cook food that requires longer amounts of time, and I’ve also found that I only need to cook smaller amounts for myself and my roommate.

A personal cake that takes a total of nine minutes to create is a perfect on-the-go dessert for my college life and is great for those who have absolutely no time. Try this personal chocolate cake on one of your most stressful days to bring a delicious delight to your day.

Cover the bowl and put into microwave on high for 2 minutes. (Adjust time to 2 1/2 minutes depending on the power of your microwave). Let cake cool for 5 minutes, and it’s ready to eat!

Now enjoy this quick and easy treat while you do you work, walk to class, or just veg out in bed.

I spend most my days sleeping, eating, and playing volleyball! I am not the best cook out there, and I am hoping to change that. I absolutely love Memphis, my hometown, and Sewanee of course!
