The Canadian government has a few trade secrets. What's in Justin Trudeau's hair products, for example. Or how to access the government's maple syrup reserves (they're a bit touchy after they were robbed once). But most importantly, the government has never released the official Tim Horton's iced capp recipe. Sure, you could argue that it's Tim Horton's decision to withhold the recipe, but I'm convinced that it's a massive Canadian conspiracy (just joking — mostly).

Whatever the reason, Tim Horton's only lists the most basic ingredients for an iced capp on their website: creamer and

Iced Capp® Mix. This isn't particularly helpful, as nobody really knows what goes into the mix (sketchy, I know). Still, I was determined to forge ahead and make a homemade version of this Canadian treat, only healthier. Because nobody wants to inhale 47 grams of sugar in a single sitting (sorry, Timmy's). After multiple rounds of recipe testing, here's the iced capp recipe I came up with.

This iced capp recipe is pretty darn close to the Timmy's version, and about a hundred times better for you. So until Tim Horton's releases the official recipe (someone start a petition, please), I'll be sipping on this DIY version. Trying to be healthy but still craving Timmy's?
