How to Make 2-Ingredient Icebox Cake

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Hamilton chapter.

Icebox cake was brought to the US’ attention during WWI as a sweet household treat that uses pre-made ingredients. Heavy cream and wafer cookies are the stars of this cake; the wafers become soft and delicious as the cream soaks into them overnight.

This particular icebox cake has also been called “zebra cake” for its black and white, stripe-like appearance when it is cut into. It uses only two ingredients and is perfect for any event… or even just a snack.
