All students know that colds are as common on college campuses as pumpkin flavored drinks are in the fall. And once that sore throat rolls around, you’re never going to want to get out of bed. The perfect remedy? A hot toddy.
This drink has all the relaxing benefits of tea but with a little kick. Hot toddies are easily customizable to your taste. Feel free to switch out the cinnamon for a pinch of cloves and nutmeg, or the bourbon for brandy. It’s hard to go wrong here.

Ingredients:
1 teabag black tea
½ cup water
3 tablespoons bourbon
3 lemon slices
1 tablespoon honey
1 pinch cloves (optional)
1 cinnamon stick (optional)
Directions:
1. Pour water into your pot and add 2 lemon slices. Heat it up until it’s boiling, and then add the cinnamon stick and the teabag.
2. Add the honey to your serving mug, and pour the brandy over it.
3. After the tea has steeped for a few minutes, take out the teabag and cinnamon stick. Pour your tea mix into your mug, and stir it until fully combined.
4. Garnish with the last lemon slice and the cinnamon stick.
So while you lie on your bed and watch some Netflix, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a hot toddy. You may have to leave your bed to make it, but your throat will thank you for it.
