Social media trends are ever so tempting, especially when it comes to food, and, of course, we all want to have a go at these tasty trends. But, these luxuries can get pretty pricey. For example, Momfuku Milk Bar's 6" cake is $42!
That is why I came up with an alternative recipe for Milk Bar's Birthday Cake using ingredients from the grocery store for only $10! After trying this out, you will not only leave guests speechless, but you will also make your wallet happy.
Birthday Cake

- 1 Box vanilla cake mix
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup rainbow sprinkles
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Small bowl
- 1 can store bought buttercream frosting

Mix cake mix, vegetable oil, water, and eggs. Then, add rainbow sprinkles.

Spray two 9" pans with cooking spray.

Pour evenly into pans and place in oven at 325F for 25 minutes.

While cake cooks, make the cake soak by adding the milk and vanilla extract.

After cake cools, use a small bowl as a guide to cut the cake. Leave the scraps!

Crumble the cake scraps to make cake crumbles.

To the first layer of cake, add the cake soak, frosting, and then cake crumbles.
