Unlock Matcha's Full Potential With This Silky Green Pie
I’ve used my matcha powder in a million things: smoothies, lattes, oatmeal, you name it. That being said, I knew that I had yet to unlock matcha’s full potential. Eating matcha ice cream and matcha cream puffs proved to me that matcha pairs wonderfully with desserts, so I decided to get a little adventurous and make a matcha pie. And this adventure totally pays off.
The sweet custardy pie base creates the perfect pairing for the earthy green tea flavor. Cutting into this pie is thrilling as the custard turns a brilliant bright green, making it a fitting treat for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
If you enjoy impressing your friends with trendy treats, nothing will do the job better than this matcha pie. It’s adventurous enough to satisfy all of your foodie friends, but also basic enough to please pickier palates. They'll be green with envy at your baking skills (or maybe just green from all the pie they're eating).
