Healthy is rarely an adjective that inspires excitement when it comes to desert, but this fruit crumble is exactly that and more. The beauty of this treat is it can be thrown together in a pinch, while simultaneously tricking whoever you serve it to into thinking you’re a expert in the kitchen.

You can make this with any fruit you have lying around, ideally what’s in season to make your kitchen more sustainable; so during these cold Montreal winters I opt for apples but in the summer peaches and blackberries are the perfect pair.

If you’re vegan this recipe can easily be changed, by swapping maple syrup out for butter, to suit you.
