Here’s What You Should Bring to Your Next Hipster Picnic

Now that the stress of school is over and summer break has begun, why not celebrate with a picnic? But not just any picnic, try doing a hipster picnic. What makes this picnic hipster? The food, of course! This recipe will show you the hottest trends that are already making their away to hipsters all over. Can you guess what I’m cooking with? That’s right, buffalo cauliflower. Cauliflower is the perfect vegetable to play up or down. 

And of course I didn’t forget about dessert. This lemon mousse recipe is a light, fresh treat perfect for your picnic. 

Cauliflower Buffalo Lettuce Wraps

  1. Pre-heat oven to 425°F.

  2. Cut cauliflower into bite-sized pieces.

  3. Combine flour, water, and milk in medium bowl and mix until thicken.

  4. Add garlic powder, paprika, and cumin into mixture and mix.

  5. Coat cauliflower with mixture.

  6. Cover baking sheet with parchment paper and bake cauliflower at 425°F for 20 min.

  7. While cauliflower is baking, prepare hot sauce mixture. Combine butter and hot sauce on low heat for 5 min.

  8. Take cauliflower out and coat with hot sauce mixture.

  9. Bake for another 20 min.

  10. Put cauliflower in lettuce wraps and pack for picnic.

Lemon Mousse

  1. Juice the two lemons.

  2. Mix sugar and the egg yolks in bowl.

  3. Add lemon juice to sugar and egg yolk mixture.

  4. Simmer lemon mixture at 325°F for 10 min.

  5. Fluff three eggs whites.

  6. Fold the fluffed egg whites into lemon mixture.

  7. Let chill for 20 minutes.

  8. Fold in whipped cream.

  9. Chill until picnic.

Water is the best way to hydrate when you’re out in the warm weather, but if you’re looking for more flavor try these summer drinks
