Dutch Apple Cake Is the Perfect Dessert for a Potluck

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Vandy chapter.

One of my best friends from St. Andrews was a talented baker. He often whipped up cakes and other treats during exams or on the weekends. It was an easy way to bring everyone together to catch up and enjoy his culinary masterpieces. Many of his recipes were family recipes he brought from home. Despite his Swedish heritage, this cake originates from The Netherlands. Adapted from his recipe, this simplified Dutch Apple Cake recipe is delicious and can be whipped up in a pinch. It’s perfect as an easy holiday potluck contribution, or as a way to destress from final exams.
