Staying hydrated (along with getting enough sleep) is one of the best ways to keep yourself refreshed and energized all day. Lemon water is known to be a great way to get your metabolism started in the morning. Slice your lemon and add a pinch of pepper. Cayenne pepper will help raise energy levels and this is the perfect drink to keep you going all day. Because this drink is so easy to make, make a big jug of it to drink throughout the day whether you’re at the beach, at your desk or hanging out with your friends. (Feel free to add a little more lemon if you prefer the taste.)

Honey Ginger Tea

This is a perfect post lunch pick me up for so many reasons, one of my favorite being that there’s no sugar needed. Ginger helps boost metabolism, increases circulation and aids in digestion so you’re less likely to get a food coma after a hearty meal. Tumeric and cardamom do just about the same thing. You can also store a jug of it in the fridge to heat up when you want it. Be careful drinking this  in the evening as it can keep you up at night.

Easy

Serving: 1 glass

Ingredients:
Hot water
1 ½ – 2 teaspoon of honey (more or less depending on personal preference)
1 inch of fresh ginger root
¼ teaspoon of ground cardamom
¼ teaspoon of tumeric

Directions:
1. Peel the ginger
2. Cut 2 thin slices of ginger and place in your cup
3. Add honey
4. Use a garlic press to juice the remaining ginger
5. Add the spices
6. Fill your mug/cup with hot water and stir

If these options don’t satisfy you, you can always opt for some fruit-infused water. Blueberries and citrus fruits provide a burst of energy. Feel awake and ready to take on the rest of your day!
