These Grandma Approved Cornflake Cookies Are Anything But Average
My grandma, whom I call "nanny," can only be described as one thing, a cliché. She's adorable, loves to knit, and is always baking cookies. For many years, traditional chocolate chip cookies were her staple. Rightfully so because they are packed to the edges with chocolate chips, and can't be beat. But a few years ago, she got a recipe for cornflake cookies from a friend. Now these cookies have become a regular in her rotation, and I am forever grateful for it. I can't leave her house without taking at least five to go.
I know that putting cornflakes in cookies sounds weird, but I swear it's unreal. The cookie itself is crumbly and soft, while the cornflakes add an unexpected crispiness. The result? A perfect balance between salty and sweet. I can eat 20 of these cookies without batting an eye, that's how addictive and delicious they are. And a bonus is that the recipe is so simple, you probably have the majority of the ingredients sitting in your kitchen right now.

These cookies are perfect for the holidays, but they're so easy that, really, they're perfect for anything. My nanny may be the cliché grandma, but these cornflake cookies are not. They're untraditional, unexpected, and they'll wow your family and friends. Especially those family and friends that get enough classic chocolate chip cookies from their own grandmas.
