Celebrate the Holidays with This Classic Apple Pie

It’s apple season, which means it’s time to make all sorts of apple goodness. The best one to start with is the classic apple pie.

Here’s my go-to, tried and true apple pie recipe. It’s best with a homemade crust, but also tastes amazing with store-bought crust.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Luna Zhang

    Wash, cut, and core apples.

  3. Luna Zhang

Gently place bottom crust in pan.

  4. Luna Zhang

    Fill pan with apples.

  5. Luna Zhang

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

  6. Luna Zhang

    Add in flour and combine.

  7. Luna Zhang

Add in both sugars, cinnamon, and water and bring to a boil. Let simmer for a few minutes.

  8. Luna Zhang

Pour 3/4 of syrup over apples.

  9. Luna Zhang

Add top crust. You can create a lattice or place the top crust over and cut air holes.

  10. Luna Zhang

Pour remaining syrup over the crust. This will serve as a glaze.

#SpoonTip: If the syrup is too thick, use a brush to spread it evenly.

  11. Bake for 40 minutes or until apples are softened.

Let the pie cool for a few minutes. Then, cut and enjoy with vanilla ice cream.
