How to Make a 5-Minute Chocolate Mug Cake That Isn’t Terrible for You
Every lazy student wants their food in minutes, and that’s why many turn to cakes, brownies, cookies, etc. in a mug. However, to avoid the Freshman 15 and the other dreaded results of unhealthy eating, I made a healthy alternative that will taste just as rich and just as fast.
Chocolate Cake In a Mug
- Prep Time: 3 minutes
- Cook Time: 90 seconds
- Total Time: 4 minutes 30 seconds
- Servings: 1
- Easy
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup whole wheat flour (or almond flour)
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- 1/2 mashed banana
- pinch Salt
Step 1
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt into medium-sized bowl. Mix dry ingredients.
Step 2
Melt coconut oil in microwave for 20 seconds and mash 1/2 a banana. Then add to dry ingredients.
Step 3
Then mix in almond butter and vanilla extract to the batter. Next, pour the mixture into the mug.
Step 4
Then finally sprinkle your creation with as much chocolate chip as your heart desires (and the mug allows for).
Step 5
Cook in microwave for 90 seconds.
Step 6
Remove from microwave and enjoy!
#SpoonTip: Make sure to wear oven mitts when you take the mug out since it’s going to be hotter than Zac Efron on that handle.
