This BEC Mac N' Cheese Is the Best Thing to Happen Since Chicken and Waffles

Breakfast Mac N' Cheese

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup macaroni noodles
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cooked bacon slices
  • Hash browns

Step 1

Bring water in a pot to a boil. Cook the macaroni as directed on the box. Once cooked, make the base by adding the butter and flour into a different pot on medium heat. Whisk until thick. Then add the milk slowly and whisk again until it has completely thickened.

Step 2

Add the cheese until melted. Once completed, add the macaroni to the sauce base. At this time, you can either chop up the cooked bacon into smaller pieces and mix throughout the macaroni, or weave the pieces together & save them for later.

Step 3

Inside a ramekin, pour the mac n' cheese in first, followed by the layer of cooked hash browns and extra cheese. If you weaved your bacon together, place it on top. Put in oven for about 5-10 minutes, or until crisp on top.

Fry an egg over easy or sunny side up (whatever your preference is), and serve with the egg on top.
