The 4th of July is an awesome holiday. It means BBQs, the beach, and a whole lot of patriotism. And what better way to show your love of America than American flag jell-o shots?

I can’t think of anything better. Not only will these bad boys impress your friends immensely, they also taste awesome and look freaking amazing. Make sure to start making this delectable treat one day in advance, they are a little time consuming. American Flag Jell-O Shots

  • 3 oz Blue Jell-O
  • 9 oz Red Jell-O
  • 1 Can Sweetened Condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoon Knox Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1/2 cup Unflavored Vodka
  • Step 1

    Mix the blue Jell-O with 1/2 tablespoon of gelatin. Add 1 cup of boiling water and stir to dissolve.

  • Step 2

    Pour blue Jell-O into two 3×5 mini loaf pans. Then place in the fridge to set for 45 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Mix the red Jell-O with 1 1/2 tablespoons gelatin. Add 3 cups of boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Wait until the mixture cools slightly and add 1/4 cup vodka.

  • Step 4

    In one bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of gelatin with 1/2 cup of cold water, stir well. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water and stir to dissolve completely. In another bowl, whisk the can of sweetened condensed milk with 1 cup of boiling water. Add the sweetened condensed milk mixture to the gelatin mixture. Let cool then add the remaining 1/4 cup vodka.

  • Step 5

    Once the blue has set and is sticky to the touch, cut half of the Jell-O out to create the blue square of the flag. Pour 2 tablespoons of the red mixture into the the now empty space. The mixture should go half way up the blue. Place in the fridge to set for 10 minutes. Continue this process with the white and red Jell-O until you’ve reached your desired amount of layers.

  • Step 6

    Once the mold is completely set, remove from the fridge and dip in hot water for 10 seconds. Make sure you don’t get water in the Jell-O. Then cut away the sides to release the mold.

  • Step 7

    Slice it up into as many pieces as you want. Add sprinkles if you want and then get drunk off of American flag Jell-O. Happy birthday America!
