If I were to describe granola in three words, they would probably be versatile, satisfying, and addictive. You can really add just about anything you want to granola to make it catered to your taste and to your dietary needs. This chocolate sea salt granola is packed with superfoods, but is also a more legal form of sweet and salty crack. Honestly good luck not eating half of the batch right after you make it. Maybe other people have portion control, but uh, not me.

When you are making granola, it is important to add ingredients that will hold all the goodness together. In this recipe, I used a mixture of dates and coconut oil. What's extra great about using dates is that they are super sticky and they add sweetness to the granola, so with the addition of some dark chocolate, you really don't need to add any sugar, honey, or any other sweetener. The coconut oil also helps to hold it all together, and make the granola form larger bits instead of just being super crumbly.

For even more yummy chocolatey deliciousness, chop up some more dark chocolate and sprinkle it on top while the granola is cooling!

Not only is this granola a sweet and salty treat, it is also super good for you. Fiber from the oats, omega-3s from the chia and pumpkin seeds, healthy fats from the chia seeds and coconut, and antioxidants from the dark chocolate will keep you feeling satisfied for hours. You can also easily add any other ingredients that you would want in your granola like nuts or dried fruits!
