We've all wanted a warm cake at some point during our dorm days, but don't want to go through the hassle of cooking (and cleaning) in the community kitchen. These mug cakes are the perfect solution; minimal dishes and being able to make dessert in a few minutes in the comfort of your own dorm room. Plus once you buy the ingredients the first time, you have enough to make tons of mug cakes. Nothing is better than a single serving of cake made in just a few minutes in your microwave.

I had to start off with a classic chocolate cake recipe that everyone loves. You can never really go wrong with chocolate cake, especially if it's topped with ice cream or whipped cream. This recipe is the moistest cake you can make in a mug and avoids the spongy texture you might usually get from a mug cake. This chocolate cake recipe is definitely one you need to try the next time you are craving something chocolatey.

Snickerdoodles are one of my favorite cookies but this snickerdoodle mug cake is a new favorite. There's nothing better than cinnamon sugar, and a snickerdoodle mug cake might be the best way to get your share of sweetness. This recipe is super easy and will satisfy your sugar cravings.

For all my fellow peanut butter lovers out there, this chocolate peanut butter mug cake is a delicious twist on a classic. Peanut butter makes (almost) anything better, especially everything chocolate related. This recipe is incredibly delicious and super easy to make.

Nothing is better than the classic pairing of marshmallow, chocolate and graham crackers and this S'mores mug cake will be sure to satisfy your campfire cravings. It may not be the same as roasting marshmallows over the campfire, but it's pretty delicious considering you can make it in a microwave.

Chocolate Chip Cookie

Okay, so I know this isn't a cake, but chocolate chip cookies are a classic so I had to include it. A chocolate chip cookie mug cake is even better because it takes just minutes to make. Very often I find myself wanting a chocolate chip cookie but don't have the time to make a full batch. This is my new solution and I love it. There's nothing better than a single chocolate chip cookie that you don't have to share.

Cooking and baking can be a difficult task when you live in the dorms and these mug cake recipes are the perfect solution to the mess and hassle that community kitchens can be. And let's be honest, nothing is better than not having to leave your room for food, especially dessert. Gather a few friends and have a mug cake party during a well-earned study break. Grab your favorite mug and try out one of these recipes the next time you are craving cake.
