On Friday, September 18th, Spoon would like to make your walk through Kogan on your way to class a little more exciting. The Blender Girl, Tess Masters, is touring American college campuses and will be in Kogan Plaza from 12-2pm to share healthy smoothies with GW students.

Tess is an Australian chef, author, blogger, and nutrition lecturer who seeks to inspire others through her understanding of wholesome food and nutrition.

With the help of her vitamix, Masters has made nutrition a lifestyle, and she’ll be sharing her delicious blends with GW students in exactly 10 days! The event will not only feature free smoothie samples, but will also include giveaways (need a new blender?), a sale of Tess’s newest cookbook The Blender Girl Smoothies, and a health lecture at 7pm to learn more about Master’s nutrition journey.

Chai Tai Smoothie

  • Prep Time:5 minutes
  • Cook Time:1 minute
  • Total Time:6 minutes

  • Easy

    Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1/4 cup chopped pitted dates
  • 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • pinch of ground cloves
  • pinch of natural salt
  • 2 medium frozen sliced bananas
  • 1 cup ice cubes (optional)
  • Step 1

    Throw all of the ingredients into your blender and puree on high for 30 to 60 seconds, until smooth and creamy.

     

Tastes-Like-Caramel Creamy Greeny

  • Prep Time:5 minutes
  • Cook Time:30-60 seconds
  • Total Time:6 minutes

    Ingredients

  • 2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 medium sliced banana
  • 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or coconut water
  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 cup frozen peaches
  • Step 1

    Throw all of the ingredients into your blender and puree on high for 30 to 60 seconds, until smooth and creamy.

     

Rosemary Melonade

  • Prep Time:5 minutes
  • Cook Time:30-60 seconds
  • Total Time:6 minutes

    Ingredients

  • 3 cup chopped seedless watermelon
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
  • 1 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/4 cup frozen strawberries
  • 5 drops liquid stevia
  • Step 1

    Throw all of the ingredients into your blender and puree on high for 30 to 60 seconds, until smooth and creamy.

     

Liquid Strawberries and Cream

  • Prep Time:5 minutes
  • Cook Time:30-60 seconds
  • Total Time:6 minutes

    Ingredients

  • 2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1/2 cup raw cashews
  • 1/4 cup chopped pitted dates
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of sea salt
  • Step 1

    Place the coconut water, cashews and dates in your blender and puree on high until smooth and creamy.

  • Step 2

    Now add the vanilla extract, salt and strawberries.

  • Step 3

    Blend on high until it is rich and creamy.
