Take those first baby steps to becoming a professional chef and try some of the easiest recipes ever created using your microwave. There are no knife skills and you don’t need to use a stove. The best part is all 4 recipes can be done within five minutes. Next thing you know, your friends will start to wonder why all of a sudden you know how to cook.

#SpoonTip: When heating up leftovers that need some sort of moisture to be edible and enjoyable, such as rice or brownies, lightly wet a paper towel and put it on top of the food before microwaving it. This way, there’s still some moisture in the leftover and it can taste just as it did the first time you ate it.

  • Step 2

Put the bowl in the microwave and set the microwave time for 30 seconds. Take the bowl out of the microwave and beat the eggs with a fork. Then you will place the bowl back into the microwave for another 30 seconds. Do it until the eggs are fluffy (make sure they aren’t runny, as this would mean they still aren’t cooked) and are a nice yellow color.

  • Step 1

Beat the eggs in a bowl and add some salt. Add some water (a little less than the volume of the beaten eggs) to the beaten eggs. Then, put the bowl into the microwave and heat it for about 5 minutes (though it really depends on the strength of your microwave).

  • Step 2

You can check to see if the egg is fully cooked by seeing when the mixture has changed to a lighter version of the egg color and when it is firm. If possible, add a tiny bit of sesame oil and a pinch of green onions to the top for extra flavor.

S'mores

  • Prep Time:1 Minute
  • Cook Time:30 seconds
  • Total Time:1 Minute and 30 seconds
  • Servings:1
  • Easy

    Ingredients

  • 1 big marshmallow
  • 2 graham crackers
  • 1 square of chocolate
  • Step 1

To make s’mores, stack a marshmallow on top of one of the graham crackers that sits on a plate, and then put the plate into the microwave.

  • Step 2

Once the marshmallow rapidly expands (probably in less than 10 seconds), take the plate out and put a square of chocolate on top of the marshmallow. Afterwards, put the other graham cracker on top to complete your smore. If you prefer really soft and melted chocolate, put it in the microwave underneath the marshmallow when you heat it the smore.

  • Total Time:3 Minutes and 30 seconds
  • Servings:1
  • Easy

    Ingredients

  • 1 cup marshmallows
  • 2 graham crackers
  • 1 cup cheerioes

  • Step 1

Fill a bowl with marshmallows and microwave it until the marshmallows melt and have a paste-like texture. This usually happens when the marshmallow starts quickly expanding in the microwave.

  • Step 2

Slowly pour the cheerios into the bowl of melted marshmallows while simultaneously stirring the combination with a spoon. You can stop adding the cheerios when you like the ratio ratio of cheerios to marshmallow in your bowl. Finally, you can wait until the marshmallows cool down and harden or you can eat it while it is still warm and gooey.
