Start off with strawberry jalapeño poppers that are a light, sweet, and spicy combo that is a great appetizer for any summer BBQ. Then lather some chicken or your favorite veggies with this tangy, smokey strawberry BBQ sauce. Finish off your meal with a refreshing green tea matcha strawberry sorbet.

Strawberry Jalapeno Poppers

    Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Cut jalapenos in half, vertically. Take out the seeds. Cut the bacon slices in half.

    In a bowl, mix together goat cheese, thyme, and diced strawberries.

    Take a jalapeño half and add a layer of sliced strawberries along the inside.

  5. Fill each jalapeno with the goat cheese mixture and tightly wrap bacon around it. Place on tin foil lined tray, and place the bacon ends under the jalapeno so it won’t fall apart.

  6. Cook for 15 minutes in a 400 degree oven, spinning the tray half way through.

Smokey Strawberry BBQ Sauce

    In a pot mix together brown sugar, garlic, salt, red chili flakes, and Worcestershire sauce. Place pan on medium heat until sugar is dissolved.

  2. Stir in ketchup and strawberry puree, and turn heat to medium-high. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

  3. Once it is starting to boil, add three drops of hickory liquid smoke and stir well. Lower heat to simmer, and cover with a lid.

  4. Let the mixture simmer for 20 minutes, or until it forms a thick consistency.

  5. Serve hot or cool and enjoy for later.

Strawberry Green Tea Sorbet

    Heat water until it comes to a boil. Combine water, matcha powder, sugar, and two green tea packets. Let it steep for 15 minutes.
