McDonald’s is Selling Their Big Mac Special Sauce in Grocery Stores

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at FSU chapter.

Thanks to Michael “Jim” Delligatti, America came to know the beloved Big Mac almost 50 years ago. Two beef patties, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions all on a sesame bun with a special sauce we hold dear in our hearts because Americans’ love for Big Mac Special Sauce is very real.

The Obsession

Earlier this year, McDonald’s bottled up their creamy goodness for a giveaway of 10,000 bottles. This was the first time they did this in the U.S. and it was in honor of Mr. Delligatti himself, who passed away in 2016. Personally, I think 10,000 was a little stingy considering how many of us truly love Big Mac Special Sauce but I guess you can’t put a price on love… The highly coveted sauce is going for a whopping $10,000 on eBay.

As for those of you who don’t have a wad of 10K laying around to splurge on your fave sauce, you must be wondering, “When am I gonna be able to actually buy this stuff?” There is hope. The golden arches recently announced that they will begin to sell their Big Mac, McChicken, and Filet-O-Fish sauces in grocery stores this spring.

The Giveaway

Sadly enough, the U.S. will not be the first to experience such a luxury. Big Mac Special Sauce will take on its debut in Canada. McDonald’s spokesperson, Adam Grachnik, told the Huffington Post, “With this launch, Canadians will now be able to experience the world famous sauces they love at home.” Us Americans are mad jealous. McDonald’s is teaming up with Kraft Heinz for production and there’s no word on the price but it probably won’t break the bank like these ridiculous eBay auctions.

If McDonald’s doesn’t start selling their sauces down south, I think some of us might consider moving to Canada. JK but maybe a road trip? I heard they have waffle fries too! Us Americans are mad jealous.

I firmly believe food makes everything better.
