This summer Jamba Juice came out with a limited edition watermelon smoothie bowl and watermelon smoothies. The three new menu items consist of the watermelon breeze smoothie, watermelon chia restore smoothie and watermelon hydration bowl. I purchased and tried all three of these items to let you know if they are worth your buck. Smoothies and smoothie bowls can be pretty pricy, so I saved you the time and money and tried them myself.

Watermelon Hydration Bowl

I love a good smoothie bowl so I was excited to try this. The base of the bowl is made up of blended watermelon, pineapple, blueberry, peach and strawberry. The watermelon smoothie base was more icy than creamy but it still tasted good. This bowl was topped with pineapple, chia seeds and coconut chips (these make the bowl). In the picture from Jamba Juice's website blueberries were pictured as a topping, so I was a little disappointed that mine did not have any. Overall, it was tasty and refreshing, but I probably won't buy this again because it's $7.99 and not nearly as big as a smoothie bowl that I could make myself.

Watermelon Breeze Smoothie

This smoothie tasted almost identical to the base of the smoothie bowl. I liked it, but wasn't blown away. My smoothie was a little chunkier than I like them, but that's just a personal preference. The flavor was refreshing, but probably won't buy again either. It is more sour than sweet, so if you like sour smoothies this is the one for you.

Watermelon Chia Restore Smoothie

The best for last! After being underwhelmed with my past purchases, I wasn't expecting much from this one. This smoothie was so creamy and not as sour as the previous ones. This smoothie was made with Greek yogurt, so I think that's why I liked this one the most. The chia topping that is added on top of this smoothie blew me away. I have never tasted chia pudding but I imagine it being something similar to this. I definitely would buy this smoothie again. It was more sweet than sour, extra creamy, and had the most delicious chia topping.

Overall, these limited edition watermelon menu items are a refreshing summer option. If you're a watermelon lover try them while they last, although I recommend the watermelon chia restore smoothie the most.
