Crisp, smooth, syrupy, chocolate-coated waffles topped with a generous scoop of ice-cream are the dessert trend these days. With new outlets cropping up in each part of Delhi, it is becoming increasingly hard to candidly walk by them without dropping in for a warm bite of heaven.
Although most places offer an assortment of dessert toppings such as Nutella, blueberry, mango, toffee, there are quite a few savory options that incorporate cheese, eggs, and bacon.

1. Wenger's Deli
Your search for city's best waffles ends here. The quality of waffles prepared by Wenger's Deli is unparalleled, the waffles are crunchy yet smooth enough in texture such that you can cut them using a plastic fork and knife. The best part is that you get a full round waffle with ice cream instead of only a quarter. Nutella waffle with vanilla ice cream and nougat and blueberry waffle is always a hit at this place.

2. Old Town Cafe
This quaint little gem of a place serves lip-smacking food (tried and tested). Their signature thin and warm waffles will remind you of homelike comfort, so would the interiors. The cafe is understaffed, thus, you would probably have to wait a while before your order arrives. The way I see it, you get more time to chill and chat.

3. IHop
This international brand might be renowned for thick, delectable pancakes but the waffles here are equally heavenly, if not more. The variety of waffle toppings is a bonus because both sweet and savory kinds are on the menu. What's more is that they provide four types of syrups (maple syrup, strawberry, blueberry, butter pecan) on every table. A pricier option but definitely worth splurging.

4. Wafflesome
Known as one the best places to gorge on waffles in South Delhi, Wafflesome is a charming little shop in GK 1 that serves a mean Nutty Brownie Nutella Waffle. With a multitude of flavors, such as Banana Toffee, Chocolate, Blueberry, Banana Caramel, at such a modest price, Wafflesome is an affordable party for your taste buds.

Ricos probably serves the best waffles out of all the cafes in Hudson Lane. The waffles are Belgian style gourmet with large portion sizes stacked on top of each other. A scoop of ice cream, however, costs extra.

This little store is tucked away in a corner in East Delhi's Madhu Vihar market. It has only been three months since the outlet came into existence and it's already a hit, thanks to the quality and deliciousness of the waffles at an affordable price. What's more, they have sugarfree waffles if you're diabetic or watching your calories.

8. Stop My Starvation
Stop my starvation is a pro when it comes to preparing mouth-watering waffles. They serve half a waffle with both sweet and savory (chicken tikka, ftw) toppings. While you're here, you can devour crepes, pancakes, sandwiches, and shakes at an economical price.

12. Fluffles- The Fluffy Waffle Co.
Fluffles has introduced a modified version of this trending dessert to make it more enjoyable. The waffles here look like edible bubblewrap, and with customisable toppings, you end up having a dessert that looks and tastes divine.
