At the end of August of 2017, the southern states of America were hit with the largest hurricane of the last 12 years. Since Hurricane Wilma, not one hurricane had reached land. However, when this storm hit, it hit hard. It was the single-most wettest tropical hurricane in the US ever recorded. Areas in Texas and Louisiana faced floods of epic proportions. Forty inches of rain submerged entire cities. Homes were destroyed, animals were abondoned, and worse of all, people were killed.

To recover from the horrid situation, people from all over the nation took action. Whether it was donating food, clothing, toiletries, or money, America stood together as one to fight back the storm which had already won its battle.

What Biena Is Doing

Biena Foods took initiative to help those in need who were affected by the hurricane. The company pledged to donate all of their online sales to support Hurricane Harvey relief for the month of September. All you have to do is buy some of their delicious snacks.

Biena Foods makes high-protein, non-GMO chickpea based products. They have a ton of different roasted chickpea products in flavors including Honey Roasted, Cinnamon Crunch, and Rockin' Ranch. Each of the varieties feature a perfectly crispy and light chickpea product that's loaded with flavor.

Their most recent addition to the chickpea line has been chocolate covered chickpeas in the flavors Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, and my personal favorite, Salted Caramel. They're a great snack you can indulge on, but don't have to feel guilty about later on.

How You Can Help

While Biena products are sold in over 15,000 retailers across the nation in stores such as Target, Shop Rite, and CVS, (don't worry Whole Foods fans, they're coming in 2018), September is almost over. That means the online store donations are about to end. Be sure to check out their website and buy some products for a good cause.

As Biena's motto states, "Taste good, feel good, do good #BienaGood"
