You Need To Make These Spooky Pillsbury Brookies This Halloween

Halloween season is here again and people are back in their kitchens baking Halloween-themed treats. All over TikTok, creators are making delicious Halloween brookies.

Brookies are a combination of brownies and cookies, so that you don’t have to choose between the two. However, since it’s Halloween season, people are putting their own spin on this dessert. Using the nostalgic Pillsbury’s Halloween ready-to-bake sugar cookies as the star of their brookies, bakers are making this delicious dessert Halloween ready.

The Pillsbury Halloween sugar cookies come in three different designs — pumpkins, ghosts, or spooky cats. The three designs are all staples of Halloween, constantly being associated with the holiday.

These Halloween-designed cookies are placed on the bottom of a brownie pan, then a boxed brownie mix is poured on top before a second layer of the Pillsbury Halloween cookies is placed on top, giving you a simple but delicious dessert. These brookies have a crunchy top from the sugar cookies and a fudgy center coming from the brownies.

Some TikTok creators, such as @eatatmaudes, have taken these simple brookies a step further. Brownies, sugar cookies, and Oreos are all layered together to create what social media bakers like to call a ‘slutty brownie.’ Each creator makes these brownies a little differently, but the concept remains the same: taking multiple desserts and combining them into one delicious baked good.

Maude makes her slutty Halloween brownies by adding a layer of chocolate chip cookie dough to the bottom of a pan, then Halloween Oreo cookies with their  bright orange cream, next she adds a fudgy brownie batter on top, and lastly Maude adds the iconic Pillsbury cookie dough with a little ghost design.

“They are so incredible and seriously they make everyone happy,” Maude says.

TikTok user @kimberlyj_king makes her spooky brownies in a different way. She starts out by adding the brownie layer first, then a layer of Oreo ready-to-bake cookie dough, next a layer of crushed Halloween Oreo cookies, followed by a bit more brownie batter and then the Pillsbury cookies on top.

Creator @chefitupwithlani made a similar version of these slutty brownies and said, “these are so so good especially if you pair it with some vanilla ice cream”.

Pillsbury is embracing the trend by making a brookie cake with a caption saying, “Our motto? Never choose between desserts when you can have them all!”  Fudgy, crunchy, chocolaty, and delicious. How could you go wrong?

With so many trends going around, this one seems to come back every Halloween season. Maybe the nostalgia we feel when we see these little Pillsbury Halloween cookies is what fuels our desire to bake them during the Halloween season and incorporate them into new recipes. Or maybe it’s the trend cycle repeating itself. Either way, every Halloween season, Pillsbury Halloween brookies will be back on your feed.
