Over and over again there are viral trends of something you just need to try — a recipe you really need to make or a restaurant item that you just need to get. But people seem to be getting a bit bored of that, so they have resorted to more creative ways to share trending snacks with the world.
This has led to creators online looking for different, weirder ways to satisfy their cravings, mainly by trying truly weird food combinations. Supposedly, these combos taste like you are eating something entirely different, and the intrigue is just enough to make you want to try them yourself.
There are a few of these food combos that seem to be standing out above the rest as the most popular ones. A big one is adding a small bit of sugar to a slice of cucumber, and this is, of course, supposed to be a watermelon. There is also a combination of a banana chunk and an avocado bite in order to make ice cream.
But don’t worry, they only get more interesting. Apparently, a slice of tomato covered with two salty chips will taste just like a bite of pizza, or if you cover the tomato with sugar, it will taste exactly like a strawberry. And most impressively, dousing a piece of lemon with cinnamon gives you a Coca-Cola flavor explosion.
There doesn’t seem to be an explanation as to why these combinations do or do not taste like what everyone is saying they do, and it could just be a trick of the mind, but many people do not seem to think that it is.
As far as food trends go, this one is especially interesting because it’s somewhat subjective. Some users claim that all of these food combinations taste exactly as they are advertised, raving over the experience, with @socialsami saying “I don’t know how that worked. I tasted strawberry.”
Others have reported only a few of them being true, at least for them, but them being good food combinations nonetheless. But most have been left disappointed at the combos’ failure to work for them, like @matthew.matosg, who says “it kinda just tastes like slop.”
The lack of results for some people, however, has not halted the amount of new combinations coming out. with banana to get pineapple or pickles, chocolate that are supposed to taste like coffee, and even a rice krispy with some ketchup to get fried chicken?
This is definitely an activity that you should get into this week, if only just to satisfy your curiosity of seeing if these crazy food combos actually taste like something completely different You might just get a new favorite mid-day snack out of it.
